On their own, both The New Yorker’s recent 14,000-word report, Blood and Soil in Narendra Modi’s India, and The Daily podcast’s latest episodes on one Uighur family’s personal experience with the Chinese detention camps (<- this one gets v. emotional at the end, FYI) + China’s crackdown on Uighur Muslims each carry a horrifyingly weighty impact in detailing government-sanctioned persecution of Muslim minorities — but with all three pieces being published within a week of each other, the combined effect is shattering. Save ‘em to your Pocket; you’ll need a solid couple of hours for these.
